One of the first Photos i took with my D800.
I was up one of the billings in Newport shooting architecture for Newport counsel.
That billing site on the right is about to be re-davenport in Newport.
Thought I would post this photo because i shows a different view in newport that people don’t get to see very often.

So the other day i got to get on Stage with Professor Green, Flow Dem and Astroid Boys.

Just before i got on stage some one bumped into me and and it un-clipped my 24-70mm 2.8 off my body. when i lifted my camera it crashed to the floor…..

I piked it up and put it back on my camera but my zoom was jammed at 35mm and a section of the vew finder was fogged… so i had to shoot the houl thing like this…

I think i did pretty well under the circumstances.

Anyway Professor Green, Flow Dem and Astroid Boys. all smashed it!!! it was a really good night! i was genially blown away by it!!!

My first proper day shooting yesterday! i was in the studio in the morning doing some Press stuff

But i spent the afternoon with Flow Dem a Group from S.Wales who are getting pretty big in the UK after being on SkyOne’s “Must Be The Music”

I finally got to have a play with my new kit! The lovely Nikor 85mm F1.4 on my DX sensor it was 127.5mm so it was hard to use. but all i have to say is wow! it was extraordinarily hard to focus especially when you have a bunch of MC’s moving around in front of you. but i would recommend this lens to anyone! it is amazing! obviously if you can afford it because it does come with a price to match the quality.

To see more of the photos check out : Flow Dem

There is a bonus portrait here of MK. Which you wont see on their page.

My contract with the University of Wales, Newport ended this week.
This is very sad for me i LOVED my job there. the fact that i got to do two thing i love there. geeky photography things and helping people!
the University’s facilities where fantastic, i didn’t always agree with the lectors teaching methods but that is just my opinion But wot made up for it was the technicians who are brilliant.
Denis: King of the dark rooms, has been working there for 23 years or something, when he says something you listen! he has so much experience!
Ian: he is a good guy at heart who knows sooo much about computer systems so it is fantastic when you need to know about file formats or anything with digital photography.
Gawain: such a nice laid back guy, and when it comes to high end scanning on the hasselblad’s flex scanners or giclée printing he is the guy you want to speak to.
I’ve learnt a lot from these guys and respect them for their technical knowledge as well as their working practise as photographers.
as well as my job im going to miss the perks of the jobs like the Digital hasselblad camera and the 3 studios one of them is above and i loved the ProPhoto rail system.
you never know in the future i might be able to get another job there.

At the event the other day, I was working and a big PA speaker fell of its 6 foot stand onto my foot (excuse the pun). I ran across the room without thinking how heavy it was to try and stop it falling on some people, but it was too heavy for me to take the weight. Instead it got me on the foot and broke 4 out of 5 bones. At least no one else was hurt.So im now in a cast for 6 weeks……Not good since I had a lot of work lined up which i’ve had to cancel. I was meant to be going to London next week for a few days and I was applying for an internship in Rankin Studio. These are just a few things that i’ve had to stop now.The next 6 weeks are going to be hard but i’m not going to waste my time watching TV. I’m going to do something! im not sure what yet but i’ll figure it out.

My friend Lloyd was taking photos all night at the Newport Grad Show Last week.
Here are the rest of the photos: Grad Show
The Photo above is of a good friend of myn Fez and I having a chat about the work. Fez looks like he is having a ball and the top of my head looks rather weird.
It was a hart 5 days of work putting up the show. but you can see from all the photo’s on Lloyd’s album that is was very bizzy, so worth it.
